Blue Hour: Poems by Carolyn Forche,

Blue Hour: Poems by Carolyn Forche,
""Blue Hour is an elusive book, because it is ever in pursuit of what the German poet Novalis called 'the [lost] presence beyond appearance.' The longest poem, 'On Earth, ' is a transcription of mind passing from life into death, in the form of an abecedary, modeled on ancient gnostic hymns. Other poems in the book, especially 'Nocturne' and 'Blue Hour, ' are lyric recoveries of the act of remembering, though the objects of memory seem to us vivid and irretrievable, the rage to summon and cling at once fierce and distracted. "The voice we hear in "Blue Hour is a voice both very young and very old. It belongs to someone who has seen everything and who strives imperfectly, desperately, to be equal to what she has seen. The hunger to know is matched here by a desire to be new, totally without cynicism, open to the shocks of experience as if perpetually for the first time, though unillusioned, wise beyond any possible taint of a false or assumed innocence.

Mechanics of Robotic Manipulation by Matthew T. Mason,
Mechanics of Robotic Manipulation by Matthew T. Mason,
"Manipulation" refers to a variety of physical changes made to the world around us. "Mechanics of Robotic Manipulation addresses one form of robotic manipulation, moving objects, and the various processes involved--grasping, carrying, pushing, dropping, throwing, and so on. Unlike most books on the subject, it focuses on manipulation rather than manipulators. This attention to processes rather than devices allows a more fundamental approach, leading to results that apply to a broad range of devices, not just robotic arms. The book draws both on classical mechanics and on classical planning, which introduces the element of imperfect information. The book does not propose a specific solution to the problem of manipulation, but rather outlines a path of inquiry.

Object-relational mapping - Object-Relational mapping (or O/RM), is a programming technique that links databases to object-oriented language concepts, creating (in effect) a "virtual object database." There are both free and commercial packages available that perform object-relational mapping, although some programmers opt to code their own object-relational mapping for their systems.

Object pool - In computer programming, an object pool is a construct of objects which can be used concurrently. Typically, a client object which requires resources which are managed by the object pool will request an object from the pool and perform operations on the returned object.

Immutable object - In computer science, an immutable object, as opposed to a mutable object, is a kind of object whose internal state cannot be modified after it is created. An object can be either entirely immutable or some attributes in the object may be declared immutable, as in C++'s const member data attribute.

Object invariant - An object invariant, or representation invariant, is an object-oriented programming construct consisting of a set of invariant properties that remain uncompromised regardless of the state of the object. This ensures that the object will always meet predefined conditions, and that methods may, therefore, always reference the object without the risk of making inaccurate presumptions.

It must be noted that this classification of textual structure in modern Japanese is neither topic-prominent, nor subject-prominent; indeed, it is common for sentences to have distinct topics and subjects. Phrases have a single meaning-bearing word, followed by a string of suffixes, auxiliary verbs such as -te are grammaticalized as conjugation or verb ending in modern Japanese, not individual words.
